Jack's Magic The Purple Stuff:
Maintenance/Prevention:
- Maintenance levels for The Purple Stuff are 10-12 ppm.
- To determine the amount of The Purple Stuff to add to achieve this level, have pool water tested weekly with a Jack's Magic Sequest Test kit.
- If a Sequest Test is not available, an estimated dosage of 6-8 oz. of The Purple Stuff per 10,000 gallons of pool water may be added on a weekly basis. Please keep in mind that it is strictly an estimate and the only way to accurately determine the appropriate dosage is to have it tested.
Stain Removal:
In certain instances, The Purple Stuff can be used to reduce the severity of a stain over time. In order to determine the appropriate method of removing existing stains use a Jack's Magic Stain ID Kit.
Jack's Magic The Iron, Cobalt and Spot Etching Stuff:
- Use a Jacks Magic Stain ID Kit.
- Turn pool pump on and chlorinator off.
- Lower chlorine level to just below 1 ppm.
- Add 1 qt. of The Blue Stuff or The Pink Stuff (with salt systems or high TDS, substitute with the The Purple Stuff) per 10,000 gallons of water.
- The use of Jacks Magic Purifiber will help enhance filtration during the stain removal process.
- Add 2 lbs. of The Iron, Cobalt & Spot Etching Stuff per 12,000 gallons. Broadcast over stained area.
- Circulate pool for 48 hours or until stains are removed.
- Clean filter and slowly begin re-chlorination and rebalance of total alkalinity (use sodium bicarbonate only).
- Do not shock for at least a week after treatment.
Jack's Magic The Filter Fiber Stuff:
For optimal performance The Filter Fiber Stuff should be applied as a slurry. A slurry is created by mixing the required amount of The Filter Fiber Stuff into a clean bucket of water to be added directly into the skimmer. When using The Filter Fiber Stuff it is also recommended to use Jack's Magic's The Natural Clean Stuff to aid in the digestion of oils which will enhance the filter's ability to perform properly and help prevent clogging of the filter elements.
Due to its highly concentrated properties, it is important not to overdose by more than a few ounces of The Filter Fiber Stuff in any pool filter. Unlike ordinary filter media, a little Fiber Fiber Stuff goes a long way.
Pressure D.E. Filters:
Charging: Start with a clean filter. Note the filter operating pressure before The Filter Fiber Stuff is added; this will be your clean filter operating pressure. Next, create a slurry. Slowly add the solution through the skimmer with the pool pump in operation.
Cleaning: The filter should be cleaned when the filter pressure rises 10 pounds above the clean filter operating pressure, or when the flow back into the pool is diminished. It is important to clean the filter as needed and recharge it each time with The Filter Fiber Stuff.
Cartridge Filters:
Charging: Start with a clean filter. Note the filter operating pressure before The Filter Fiber Stuff is added; this will be your clean filter operating pressure. Next, create a slurry. With the pool pump in operation, slowly add the solution into the skimmer. This may cause a 1-3 pound (PSI) rise in the filter pressure. Leave The Filter Fiber Stuff on the cartridge and operate the pool as normal.
Cleaning: The filter should be cleaned when the filter pressure rises 10 pounds above the clean filter operating pressure, or when the flow back into the pool is diminished. It is important to clean the filter as needed and recharge it each time with The Filter Fiber Stuff.
Sand Filters:
Charging: Start with a clean filter. Note the filter operating pressure before The Filter Fiber Stuff is added; this will be your clean filter operating pressure. Next, create a slurry. With the pool pump in operation, slowly add the 3 ounce (by weight) Filter Fiber Stuff slurry into the skimmer, until you see a 2-PSI increase on the pressure gauge, or until a maximum of 9 ounces (by weight) has been added.
Cleaning: Backwash The Filter Fiber Stuff from the filter when the pressure rises 10 pounds above the clean flter operating pressure, or when the flow back into the pool is diminished. The Filter Fiber Stuff must be backwashed from the filter after a maximum 24 hours of operation time. It is important to clean the filter as needed and recharge it when necessary with The Filter Fiber Stuff for optimal clarity.
Jack's Magic After Shock:
Add two ounces (1/4 container) per 15,000 gallons of pool water to lower chlorine residual 1 ppm or bromine 2 ppm.
Overdosing will make establishing a chlorine residual difficult following treatment. It is best to use smaller amounts with repeated additions
