I purchased this specifically for measuring and monitoring CYA levels, and it reproduced the pool store value exactly. As a chemist by trade and training, I prefer this test kit over others when it comes to chlorine measurement because others require me to match a color shade, which is very subjective. With this kit you count drops until the sample simply changes from colored to colorless. The indicator chosen provides a distinct, and rapid change from pink to colorless rather than a gradual one so there is little interpolation, providing better accuracy. It allows one two choices for reporting free Chlorine: 1) to the nearest 0.5 ppm for regular chlorine based sanitation, or to the nearest 0.2 ppm when better accuracy is needed - such as when using other sanitation devices that work best at 0.5 ppm free chlorine. Great product!
