Before You Start: Best use of Protec is achieved when first determining the type of water fountain is being treated. Water fountains with normal loss of water due to evaporation require only the "Preventative" treatment after filling. Fountains with some loss of water due to splashing (leakage) require the "Monthly Dosage".

Cleanup Tips: For best results, once treatment has started, periodically drain water feature and reapply initial dosage. This is especially true for fountains under direct sunlight and or in climates with high evaporation causing excessive hard water calcium buildup. Always keep fountain water at proper level to prevent new deposits and routinely clean pump screen. For indoor fountains, the use of distilled water to prevent white calcium deposits is usually not necessary. To help remove stubborn deposits and metal stains, add Protec "removal" dosage. If needed scrub or chemically clean surfaces. Flush fountain before starting treatment.
